Last Day of English 102

Well its the last day of class and my final of five post. I have had a great semester and learned a lot from this class. Mr. Jolly you rock! Just finishing up my self-assessment essay this morning. After all of the research and brain-storming with Mr. Jolly this semester I have decided to major in elementary education. In spring of 2011 I will hopefully be transfering to ASU. Thanks for all your help Mr. Jolly. I hope that everyone has a good rest of the semester and dont give up on your education. I plan to always keep learning even when it isnt necessary.

Class Canceled

Hello Mr. Jolly and fellow classmates. I was wondering if there is a better system for canceling class than just posting a note on the door? I drive from the West Valley and it takes me an hour to get to GateWay. My next class isn't until 2:30 pm on Mon and Weds. That means today I had to hang out in the library for 3 hours trying to stay busy. I was hoping to gather some ideas on how we could change this. Maybe create an English 102 class link on blackboard just for special announcements or cancellations. Everyone should be able to log in and check for any information posted. If they choose not to check the board than when they show up to a canceled class, they have no one to blame but themselves. Or put a post on the blog spot and make sure everyone is following Mr. Jolly. If you aren't following Mr. Jolly I don't think you will see the post. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Let me know what you guys think, especially you Mr. Jolly. It would help some of us out a lot I think.

Crossover

So recently in class we did a review on a movie from an article. For Cinema class I had to pick an article written about a movie by a "creditable source". Its funny how one week you are doing something so random and the next week it is totally relevant to another project. So I guess what my point is, sometimes English class does pay off. Thanks Mr. Jolly for the movie review assignment, it helped greatly with my cinema paper do this week.

Second Essay

Well some of you posted about the second essay being easier than the first. I find that to be the opposite in my case. I thought the first assignment was much easier, but I think that is because I chose a harder topic for the second essay than I should have. I have had to change my topic twice so far with some help from Mr. Jolly. Now I on my third topic and finally making progress. Sources have been the major problem for the most part. I cant wait for this one to be over. I have to admit I am not a reading or writing fan at all, that makes this stuff challenging for me.

My Intro

Hey guys, my name is Paul Runyon. I am a Veteran trying to finish school so I can be productive in society. I have been married almost six years and have a wonderful son. I am currently in the Respiratory Program but will most likely have to switch to the OSHA program instead. The waiting list for the health care programs are just getting to long for me to wait. My wife has done a wonderful job keeping our family afloat while I devote my full attention to college. I am running out of time and GI Bill money too. Some of my hobbies are watching football, gaming, and shooting guns.
